WebGIS Database Framework
mapaccel is a versatile development tool for powerful WebGIS services and applications, which can either base on the mapservers mapaccel IMS by Territorium Online or ArcIMS by ESRI.
The framework represents a complete solution for building complex geographic application services which can be used by light HTML-Applications for interactive inquiry and representation of geodata (mapview) as well as by remote geodata editing clients (mapedit) or integrated database applications (DBsnap Database Framework).
All that, even without the need of beeing software developers.
The backbone of mapaccel is the extensible framework, which is composed by more than 200 java classes. These classes control the access to the mapserver (mapAccel IMS or ArcIMS) and implement its functionalities into applications, which are exposed as application services in the Web (mapaccel = SOA - service oriented architecture).
The powerful Backoffice System (mapsnap configuration wizard) permits to define applications in all their details in a very visual and intuitive way and to turn them into services by a simple mouseclick.
Who wants to publish interactive maps, can in this way concentrate on the representation of geoinformation, without spending energy on resource- and maintenance-requesting technical details, which is tipical for WebGIS applications.
The mapaccel framework is composed by the following modules:
-
mapaccel Java SDK (mapaccel Server)
-
mapaccel IMS (based on UMN MapServer)
-
mapview HTML-Client
-
mapsnap (Back-Office)
-
mapedit extension (Advanced Online Editing Client)
-
DBaccess extension (RDBMS access extension)
